A Hollow Record

My name is Rodney Ashaba.

I lack any concrete definitions of my art as it is something new to my understanding of life. Taking pride in the creation of what I have captured is something that I can only be grateful for; a position in life I never thought to be in.

Growing up surrounded by hardly any cameras in Africa and arriving in the states only to be told years later that any images we had stored in our family photobook were lost to an unfortunate fire brought me an unfathomably deep sadness. To be captured has become more common than none in our modern world yet the disparity grows larger (for me) at the mention of the past. I wish those feelings upon no soul.

With that comes the existence of my very own, hollow record.
